Editorial standards and disclosures

We write about a market we compete in. These are the rules that keep that honest, and they apply to every page in The Cutting Room.

Disclosure

BriefCut builds a clipping product. Every guide that evaluates or compares other clipping tools states that interest inside the article itself, not just here. If a page compares BriefCut with a competitor, it also names where the competitor wins.

Sourcing

Claims about other products come from checkable public sources: the product itself, its published pricing and terms, and public reviews on platforms like G2, Trustpilot, and Capterra. Comparison guides link their sources. We do not publish benchmark numbers we have not measured, and we label review-aggregation content as aggregation, not hands-on testing.

Dates and updates

Market facts move fast in this category, so time-sensitive claims are stamped (“as of August 2026”) and pages carry visible published and updated dates. Comparison and pricing pages are rechecked when we learn they have drifted, and readers should verify current pricing on vendors’ own pages before deciding.

Corrections

If anything on this site is wrong, tell us: hello@briefcut.ai. Verified errors are fixed in place and reflected in the page’s updated date. We would rather lose an argument than publish one we cannot defend.

How these pages are made

Guides are produced by the BriefCut team using research tooling, including AI assistance, and are reviewed against these standards before publishing. The standard that matters is not who typed the words; it is that every claim is sourced, dated, disclosed, and correctable.
